Our Managing Director Steve Ingham and Education and Community Lead Ben Ingham gave him a tour of the premises, including a look at the site for our proposed state of the art training centre. He met some of our people including the office staff and our two newest recruits Matt and Mark who came to us through the Mahdlo ‘Get A Job’ programme and was introduced to clients, customers and people that we sponsor.

Some of the other businesses that work alongside us in Unit E also had a chat with Jim and expressed their desire to work more closely with the council and help to get more people into work, training and jobs. Especially young people.

We are very proud of our training and work experience programme at JBGroup and shared our ambitions with the Leader and other members of the cabinet Councillor Eddie Moores and Councillor Susan Dearden and local councillor Colin MacLaren. We also gave them a sneak preview of our brand new Education and Community Strategy.

We were joined for breakfast by friends from Mahdlo, Oldham Athletic Community Trust, Aspire Training, Positive Steps, North Chadderton School, Pride in Oldham nominees Sweet Course Candle, Design UK, Young Enterprise and the One Oldham Business Awards. Dyson announced that they’ll be hosting a meet and greet event with JBGroup in the new year and IEI Induced Energy Induction systems were on hand to talk about their products and services.

It was a huge success and we’re even more convinced that Oldham has a great future.
