CELLAR COOLING HIRE

Cellar Cooling Systems

available to hire from JBGroup

A cellar cooling system is used to keep your cellar at the right temperature to protect your beer. If not kept at the correct temperature the beer can spoil and become unsaleable.

The ideal temperature for cask beers is 13 ºC, if stored above this temperature, the yeast can metabolise the sugars too quickly which will result in the beer having a sour, unpleasant taste.

As well as being too warm, a cellar that is too cold will in-activate the yeast slowing down the 2nd fermentation process, which is required to finish off or condition the beer. This means that it can take longer to get the correct flavours to develop. A haze can also form in your cask and keg ales which ruins the clarity and appearance.

To combat both an overly hot or cold cellar, a cellar cooling system works to regulate the air temperature. The cooling system and condensing unit work in sync to pump cool air into the cellar and warm air out. The fans run continuously and work in conjunction with the thermostat in the cellar to ensure a regulated temperature with no cold or warm spots.
