STEVE INGHAM
the late MANAGING DIRECTOR and founder of JBGroup

Steve Ingham established JBGroup Refrigeration Services Ltd from his family home on George street, Chadderton in 1985. He was a domestic refrigeration engineer and also covered domestic ovens and microwaves; this allowed him to grow his business working in the public sector, for the council and companies such as Amana and Sub-Zero. With his wife June Ingham (JBGroup Managing Director) working as his customer service and accountant, the team were unstoppable and ensured the business was growing year on year.

As online sales grew, Steve decided to move into commercial refrigeration. This involved going into pubs, clubs, cafes, fast food and restaurants to service/repair/supply anything from kitchen refrigeration and walk in cold rooms to air conditioning and catering equipment – JBGroup have some big clients under their belt such as living adventures, TGI Fridays, Croma, Thai Leisure, Punch Taverns and many more.

Steve was very knowledgeable, being true to his roots as a refrigeration engineer, Steve couldn’t help but get his hands dirty and drove the training of new engineers. He was committed to helping people. During his tenure as managing director Steve had overseen the development of the company’s internal capabilities and expertise. In addition to steering the business to continuous growth year on year Steve also forged numerous strategic partnerships and alliances with a number of leading companies and organisations such as SMEG, Olis and many more throughout the UK. Steve has worked his way up the ranks in the engineering industry; his passion, loyalty and reputation got him to be one of the finest business men in Oldham and The North West.

He left an excellent foundation for June and Ben Ingham to carry on his legacy and morals. The work ethic he instilled within the JBGroup team will always remain and it will continue with his legacy.

June Ingham – Managing Director 

June Ingham is the new Managing Director but has always been a part of the JBGroup management structure and the back bone of the business with Steve. June has supported Steve’s choices and decisions since the business began in 1985 from Steve’s kitchen table. June began her JBGroup journey as the face of customer service, whilst also cleaning and overseeing all financial decisions! She now oversees and has the final say in all major decisions made at our 40,000 square foot premises!

“They say behind every great man is a great woman” and this rings true with the Ingham family.

 

Ben – Director

Ben Ingham has proudly taken over the task of running JBGroup. With Assisting Managing Director June Ingham, the pair will see the successful running of JBGroup following on from the late Steve Ingham, who sadly passed in July 2018 at the age of 55. Ben, who has worked through the ranks of JBGroup from the age of 14, feels his determination and strong work ethic comes from his dad.

From apprentice to Director, Ben has done it all. His current focus is designing and bringing new projects to life, along with overseeing the day to day running of business.

Jonathan – Financial Operations Manager

Jonathan was brought in from a large online retail company where he worked for 15 years as a Financial Planning Analyst, bringing with him his Operational Finance background. Jonathan has been a leader in Staff Engagement and Process Improvement where he ran sessions in engaging colleagues, implementing changes and creating efficient processes that are more cost effective. He is going to be a real acquisition to the team whereby he will instil such strategies and move the business forward in a positive direction.

 

Steve – Service & Project Manager

Steve has been in the trade since 2009, starting straight from school. Part of the JBGroup family from the beginning, Steve looks after one of our biggest clients, Punch Taverns as well as overseeing the service team for all gas and electrical call outs.

 

Craig – Gas Engineer

Employed on the service division of JBGroup, Craig started in the construction industry straight from school, with 7 years in the catering industry under his belt. He joined the JBGroup Team in October 2013 as a labourer, working his way up to be a fully qualified gas engineer and now one of the main cogs in the freshly structured JBGroup.

 

Johnny – Refrigeration engineer

Tasked with looking after Refrigeration and Air conditioning Installation and service for JBGroup, Johnny joined the team in July of 2020. Bringing with him, over 12 years of knowledge and experience of the refrigeration industry.

 

Chris – Installation Engineer

Working with the company since 2016, Chris works on our larger scale installations including interior fit out projects and ductwork installations.

 

Ashley – Service, Sales & Marketing 

Ashley joined the team at the beginning of 2020, brought in from a local retail company where she worked as Marketing Manager for 10 years. She now joins JBGroup working in the Service, Sales and Marketing team, looking to perfect and grow the professional reputation of the company. Ashley currently manages the company’s website and social media platforms, assists with service calls as well as dealing with any sales of our new and reconditioned catering equipment.

 

Kia – Service Assistant

Since leaving school Kia has worked in customer service for nearly 2 years now. Kia is relatively new to the business but has taken to the role of Service Assistant like a duck to water! Kia takes great pride in ensuring your service and maintenance jobs and booked correctly and flow smoothly from start to finish. She enjoys speaking to our customers on a day to day basis and helping with any queries or questions they may have.
